The Birth: A long time ago,a creature called Mongul arrived on an artificially created planet with a dream of building an empire. His idea fit well with the planet's overseers' desire to comandeer worlds in which to develop technology. While the overseers supplied the technology, Mongul supplied the brawn.
The Legend: Mongol was always lusting for power even as a child. He killed his infant brother to prevent the baby from getting more attention from his parents than he would have got.
Mongul's name became a legend as he carved his empire in the name of
Warworld. He proved himself a ruthless monarch and all feared him. Mongul's rule was
eventually overthrown by none other than Superman (See Superman)
and Warworld made Draaga their leader. Of course, later Mongul, conquered another planet where
he became the supreme ruler. But he was not happy with this new mudball and craved for his
Warworld.
When Hank Henshaw a.k.a the Cyborg, paid him a visit and demonstrated his
superiority over Mongul, the two of them became partners in a master plan where Mongul
thought that he would convert Earth into a new Warworld. But he suffered defeat at the hands
of Hal Jordon, the then Green Lantern,
(See Green Lantern)during Superman's comeback.
Afer his capture, Mongul was submitted to intense VR bombardment for almost a year,
in an effort to tame him. Unfortunately, the plan wasn't successful and Mongol
escaped from Earth after leaving dozens of bodies in his wake. As his ship left
the groud one of the guards fired upon it disabling a critical component within the
ship which left the ship floating in space. Near death, Mongol was found by beings
from another planet who nursed him back to health. As their reward for their help, Mongol
in turn, murdered the ruling bodies on the council and made himself the Imperial
Ruler of the planet. He ruled with an iron hand and tried to fashion the planet into
another Warworld. Too late, he learned, that a virus he had brought with
him on the planet was killing off the populace. Only two survivors were left apart from
him - two babies - the spawn of Mongol!
Besides his brute strength, Mongul also used an amulet which has been surgically attached to
his chest to help him survive.
