Origin : At the age of seventeen, young Alan Wiliamson went on a Safari with his parents and his dad's business partner, Biff Brown. Together, the two partners had turned the Wiliamson family fortune into an even bigger fortune. Biff was treated like family but young Alan never liked him - he was too handsome, smart and likeable. He never trusted Biff. When Alan's parents walked into a trap that ended their lives, Alan accused Biff of leading them into it, convinced that Biff was after their money! Biff denied any wrongdoing but alan lashed out, attacking him. A struggle followed. When the ground gave way and Alan fell in a pit and was impaled on sharp spikes, the party fled the area leaving him for dead.
When he awoke, Alan saw from different eyes. His eyes had been replaced with those of a panther. The natives that found Alan did whatever they could to save his life. With their crude potions, primitive surgery and arcane witchcraft, they did that and more. Alan became faster and stronger than any man. While he enjoyed his time there, he knew, one day, he'd have to move on. To return to America, relcaim his birthright and avenge his parents' death!
Alan grew to manhood. 'Though it greived him to do so, he left the tribe and found his way back to civilization and headed for home. He stole clothes, preparing to look his part and he confronted the murderer of his parents! Biff was sick. A tale of epic proportions was spun to try and convince Alan of his innocence, but he could see through Biff's story. Biff welcomed Alan into the firm and he moved back into his family home.
Alan became the Dark Crusader, Kill-Cat and fought for all of the victimes, bullied, in the town of Detroit! He used his inheritance to fund his crime fighting exploits. he aligned himself with clever lawyers and through a series of legal maneuvers he gradually eased Biff out, forcing him to invest in a shady company. As Kill-Cat, he busted them. When the dust settled, Biff had nothing. He was left a broken man. After Kill-Cat doggedly pursuing him for years, Biff decided to take the coward's way out and commit suicide. Doctors had given Biff a couple of months to live - he was in intense pain. The pressure had, it seemed, gotten to him. Atop a bridge, Kill-Cat confronted him and Biff asked him why he destroyed his life and who he was. Kill-Cat revealed himself to Biff - saying he was Alan Wiliamson - the son of the people he had killed! Again, Biff professed his innocence but he lost his footing and fell to his death. It was over. Kill-Cat felt that, at last, he could put his parents memory to rest.
Years later, fighting the super-powered criminal, Cement Man, Kill-Cat met the Kid Avenger and thought that he would make a suitable crimefighting partner. The two became the Deadly Duo and they fought crime in Detroit for a couple of years before Kill-Cat inadvertantly destroyed the city during a martian attack. The two relocated to Chicago, Illinois.
After Kill-Cat had told his origin to the Kid Avenger, he asked Kill-Cat how he found out that Biff was, in fact, guilty. Biff always claimed to be innocent, and the Kid wondered how he knew for sure that he'd actually killed Kill-Cat's parents. Stunned by the question, Kill-Cat had to admit that Biff's innocence never occured to him and then he started weeping uncontrolably at the thought of driving an innocent man to his grave.
