File 34 Kingpin

The Birth: Although the Kingpin became primarily a Daredevil enemy, his first appearance was way back in Amazing Spider-Man #50 where he was taking over New York City's gangs. How he rose to become where he is now, has not yet been clearly told.

The Alter Ego: The Brainwasher is just an alias he is sometimes called. His real name is Wilson Fisk; otherwise known as the Kingpin of Crime. He is, by profession a businessman, owning a number of businesses and has recently become Chief Executive Officer of Fujikawa Enterprises' Hong Kong branch. His first foray into crime was when he committed a murder at age 12 years. While he travels around the world forraying into international crime, his main base was always Fisk Towers. The Kingpin was married to a strong-willed woman, Vanessa who; walked out on him several times. Still, he is totally obeissant to his wife. Apparently, she is not the only one to detest him; his son; Richard Fisk hates his father so much that he started his criminal life as the Rose just so that he could destroy his father's empire.

The Legend: While most super heroes go off to save the world or the universe, Spider-Man has kept to upholding law on a much smaller scale - stopping thieves and muggers and the rest of the city riff-raff. After consolidating his hold in N.Y.C, most of the gangs either worked for Fisk or gave Fisk a percentage of their ill-gotten gains. Spidey began to hit Fisk financially and real hard that too. Primarily a businessman, he wanted to get rid off anything that would be bad for his business. Thus started the never-ending battle between the Kingpin and Spidey. But Kingpin got even more mad at Daredevil, since he was the only one to actually prove to the world that Wilson Fisk was nothing more than a two-bit crook. Daredevil also exposed Fisk's candidate for mayor as a crook when Fisk decided to dabble in politics and get his dirty hands in City Hall.
While he seems to be made of nothing but lard, the Kingpin of Crime is all muscle and has strength that is more powerful than any normal man. Inspite of this, he never fights the battle himself - always gets others to do his dirty work. Incase fate permits, the Kingpin attire conceals an array of weapons - his cane has a laser blaster incorporated in it while his diamond stick pin for his cravat can be used as another weapon. Besides these he also roams about with several other cleverly disguised thingummies that may shoot sleeping gas.
