Origin: Anne Stevens was a nurse at Hillman Hospital in Chicago, and was on-call the day Robert Berman was brought in for emergency surgery. Berman, who had been revealed to be the golden age Superhero Mighty Man by a local newspaper, had been attacked and severely injured by a gang of thugs. Blinded and sensing that his end was near, Berman sought to pass his powers on to his young nephew. In an attempt to comfort the dying man, Stevens held his hand. Thinking it was the hand of the intended recipient of his powers, Berman passed his superhuman abilities onto her - the ability to transform into a tall, blue-eyed and blond costumed super-hero of unknown origins - a male super-powered being - with incredible powers. Ann stevens reluctantly assumed the mantle of Mighty Man and began fighting crime.
When the member of Freak Force left the Police Department because of the various restrictions, Mighty Man joined them and helped form the group of super-powered bounty-hunters called Freak Force. Mighty Man eventually revealed her secret identity to these new friends.
When Mighty Man was offered membership in the U.S. Govenment's Special Operations Strikeforce, after Freak Force joined thier ranks, she turned it down because she did not want to reveal her secret identity to the government - fearing that the word might get out and that she'd meet Robert Berman's fate. Ann Stevens still works as a nurse when she is not fighing the forces of evil as Mighty Man.
