File 38 Morbius

The Birth: Dr Michael Morbius was a Nobel prize winning chemist who became his own patient, when he discovered that he was dying of a unique blood disease. The cure he devised involved vampire bats and electric shock therapy. But the cure turned out to be even more deadly than the disease - it also transformed him into Morbius, The Living Vampire.
Dr. Micheal Morbius was first seen in Amazing Spider-Man #101 and he had his legendary transformation in Amazing #102.

The Legend: After being transformed into the Living Vampire he was unable to bear sunlight, and had an overwhelming lust for fresh human blood. He struggled between self-hatred for the thing he had become, and his desire to live. Morbius developed chalk-white skin and fang-like canines just like a real vampire.
Morius found a cure for his state in Spectacular Spider-Man #38, and lived a relatively normal life for a time. Subsequent events saw him return however to his vampyric condition. Unlike regular vampires Morbius is not vulnerable to garlic, direct sunlight or silver bullets. In his vampyric condition he has enhanced strength. Morbius is also able to 'fly' on air currents and able to quickly regenerate physical wounds.
