The Birth: Sabretooth made his clawing debut in Iron Fist #14 in 1977.

The Legend: Sabretooth first appeared on the scene battling Iron Fist. This is the only guy who really gets on his nerves. And Fist's partner - Misty Knight, she put him out of commission for weeks.
Sabretooth now mainly fights the X-Men. Generally he hires out his services since he is too dull for anything else other than assasinating people. He has a thing for Wolverine - loves to pick up fights with him, even though he knows he'll turn out loser. Once he nearly ripped open Wolverine's back. And he also gutted Pyslocke in another encounter. Pretty much thinks with his claws.
Gambit is another X-Man who he keeps running into. He has also scrapped with Spider-Man; the same incident where Black Cat smashed his head in.
Mystique, the mother of his son, Graydon Creed is another mutant who would love to see Sabretooth knocked out permanently.

His powers include super-human strength and endurance, plus a mutant healing factor similar to Wolverine's.
