The Birth: Thousands of years ago, a young child returned home after tending to the birth of a lamb, and found his parents had been slaughtered by the bandits.
Calling out to the gods, the boy demanded to know why they had meted out this fate to him. The God Lumium appeared before the boy and asked him to speak. And the boy told him that he sought a covenant with the gods, so that others would be spared of the fate that befell him. Slowly, the faces of the gods appeared before him, one by one. They laughed at him and demanded to know what sort of a covenant he sought from them. And the oby replied that he'd be given a small portion of each of their powers, so that he may be able to protect his people and his land.
That day, the boy was gifted with the Strength of Voldar, the Wisdom of Lumium, the Speed of Arel, the Power of Ribalvei , the Courage of Elbiam and the Stamina of Marzosh!
The boy was called Shazam and the gods declared that he was free to root out all evil as he was now the champion of mankind.

The Legend: Shazam's work started out with punishing the bandits. He laid down laws and made sure that everyone followed them. Soon, he became known to all as their champion.
But Shazam let himself become blidned by lust. He mated with a demoness in the flesh of a woman and their union produced two offspring - twins who later became Blaze and Satanus.
This angered the gods who banished his mate and the babies to the Netherworld that spawned her. From that day on, Shazam made an effort to fight his temptation harder than before.

During one of his encounter, he battled the Three Faces of Evil. He trapped the demon and the gods opened a portal to Eternity, where they rested the demon upon a rock forged in Hades. Shazam got a similar rock made in the heavens and trapped the Three Faces between the two rocks where it was to remain forever. The Rock of Eternity became Shazam's resting place where he guarded the place after he left his job as people's hero.

Finally when he was tired of his job, and needed rest, Shazam took an apprentice under his wing and gave him powers similar to those of his. This apprentice was Teth-Adam, who later became the evil Black Adam.

Shazam later chose a new heir to his power - He was Captain Marvel of Fawcett City. Under guided supervision from Shazam, Cap continued Shazam's efforts. Shazam virtually built a shiled around his Fawcett City so as to keep it pure and away from the touch of Blaze. Because of his spells, time slowed to a crawl. And whatever evil entered the city, Cap and his companions took care of it.
